We have received feedback from a number of our safety customers that permit applicants do not complete their Weekly Permits to Work (WPTWs) once the work has been done and the WPTW has expired. This creates issues for safety managers who waste time chasing down users to complete their permits.

With this in mind, we are implementing a new feature for Safety Weekly Permits to Work to prevent new WPTWs from being created if the previous WPTW is not completed.

Once the new feature is rolled out the following will be the behaviour of the WPTW function:

  • Once a WPTW expires, the user will have 3 days to complete the PTW.
  • Every time they apply for a WPTW, they will be presented with a pop-up informing them that they have open WPTWs of that type.
  • If they do not complete the expired WPTWs, they will be prevented from applying for further WPTWs of that type.

The new feature to restrict the creation of new WPTWs if there are open WPTWs will go into effect on April 2, 2020.
